The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD has been designed to make a statement. Brian Izard, the lead executive designer of the pickup, has said that he wanted to visually capture the power as well as the capability of the truck.

Silverado 1500
. Built on the solid foundation of high-strength steel, the All-New Silverado HD delivers the strength to handle heavy- duty tasks. It’s engineered with seven different types of steel, with each gauge chosen to maximize capability for a truck that comes ready to work for years to come.
The design of the exterior is similar to the Silverado 1500. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is larger in size and features a larger cabin and bed than its predecessor. It’s also lighter than its predecessor. This is because of the mixed-material design which uses weight-saving measures in its frame as well as aluminum swing panels. It also features a roll-formed steel bed that’s stronger than the model it replaces. The Durabed of the All-New Silverado HD is the most functional bed in its class. Made with high-strength steel, the bed features 12 standard tie-downs, and offers LED cargo area lighting and a built-in 120-volt outlet with a larger cornerstep rear bumper and an all-new side BedStep between the cab and the rear wheel.
The design of the interior is all new too. Chevrolet has used the 2020 Silverado HD to introduce its next-generation Chevrolet infotainment system as well as its new towing technologies. With more capability across the entire line-up, the All-New Silverado HD can tow heavy loads without breaking a sweat. Starting with the 2500 Crew Cab 4WD with an impressive maximum towing of 18,500 lbs. for conventional and fifth-wheel gooseneck. The maximum gooseneck towing capability increases by 52% to a segment-leading 35,500 lbs. —making the 2020 Silverado HD the most capable truck in the HD segment. Beyond increased capabilities, the new in-vehicle Advanced Trailering System and up to fifteen available exterior views are designed to make hitching easier and driving with a trailer a more confident experience.
The engine will also be a new 6.6L V-8 engine that runs on good old gasoline which produces a whopping 400 horses of power with 450 pound-feet of torque. The Sierra 2500 HD models use a new GM 8-speed heavy duty transmission while the Sierra 3500HD models use a new 9-speed Allison heavy duty automatic transmission.
